Thus, to articulate horizontal and vertical coordination at the degree program level, in accordance with the Verification Report, the following roles are in place:

  •  Degree Coordinator
  • Course Coordinator
  • Subject Coordinator
  • Coordinator of External Practices/Practicum
  • Final Degree Project Coordinator

The aforementioned structures are integrated into the corresponding committees of the centre/section/degree, which establish the operating mechanisms through periodic meetings to analyse the development of the degree at its different levels (degree, course and subject).

Through horizontal and vertical coordination, the following are guaranteed, among other things: the appropriate sequencing and time planning of subjects, their content and evaluation system; gaps, duplications and mismatches are avoided; and the workload of students is distributed appropriately to facilitate the acquisition of learning outcomes.

Coordination plan

The degree program's coordination mechanisms include a meeting schedule with two meetings per semester, one at the beginning and one at the end, involving all courses within the program. For Practicum and Final Degree Project courses, coordination meetings are convened by the respective coordinators. Similarly, for courses taught by more than one professor and in more than one group, teaching coordination meetings are held before the start of classes, during the course syllabus preparation period, and throughout the academic year. Proposals arising from these teaching coordination meetings that affect course planning, curriculum modifications, or the teaching organization plan are also discussed in the Degree Committee meetings.
