The value of specialised documentation in the design process
Abstract
The article addresses how the services provided by CDD IM PIVA Disseny enable innovation to take place through design in companies and design studios. Two specific case studies are examined: a company making children’s products (MI CUNA ) and a design studio (ODO S DESIGN), both of which are based in the Region of Valencia. The service produces strategic benefits that lead to a better placement of the design, both internally and externally, for the organisations studied. The article also describes the resulting acquisition of new skills by the design team and the consequent improvement in the quality of their services.
