Submission of Manuscripts
Upon the arrival of a manuscript submission to Bellas Artes, this undergoes a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board of the Journal.
If its admission is deemed pertinent, the article will be assigned to an editor, who will oversee the process of double-blind peer review and subsequent phases until the completion of the entire editorial process.
Sections and Double-Blind Peer Review
This journal is structured in six sections. Only manuscripts submitted to the "Articles" secion are subject of double-blind peer reviewing, as summarized bellow:
- Articles: Double-blind peer-reviewed
- Synopsis: Does not require reviewing

Double-Blind Peer Reviewing Process
If the section to which the submission is assigned requires double-blind peer reviewing, the editor will designate two or more reviewers in order to obtain their respective recommendations.
If, when only two reviewers are designated, and they pose conflicting or opposing recommendations, a third reviewer is invited by the editor in charge of the manuscript supervision.
If the manuscript, in light of the reviewers’ recommendations, requires modifications, the editor will request the author to improve his/her article according to the reviewers’ indications. In the case that the recommended modifications are of a major nature, the manuscript may undergo another review round.
During the evaluation process, the journal will ensure the anonymity of both the authorship and the review team.
Submission of Improvements by Authors
In the case that the manuscript requires corrections and/or amendments, the author will be informed by the editor responsible for overseeing the process, in order to add the recommended improvements into the manuscript.
Once the modifications to the text are made, the author must submit his/her revised version.
