Abstract

The article consists in an approach to the interactive thr ee-dimensional works star ting from the aspects that characterize and give value to sculpture. We define sculpture as a new configuration that first appr ehends perceptively and subsequently conceptually, thus differentiating sculpture wor ks fr om «ready-mades». Primarily associated to the static or atemporal, we subsequently pass onto seeing works of a mobile nature or objects completed through action to then pass onto dealing in the second part of the article with the interactive works we consider. Regarding these, we propose a classification that is based on what is most relevant to them, whether it is their condition of r einterpreting common objects, their form, their practical and poetical potential uses, condition of musical instr ument or condition of a process that has «paintings» or «sculptures» as a product or subproduct. This classification aims at considering for the tr eatment of these works differ ent interdisciplinary traditions or tendencies of the twentieth centur y whose employed r esources go beyond what we consider sculpture.
