Master's Degree in Philosophy Research

Competencies

Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for the exercise of professional activities.

CB6 – Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context

CB7 – Students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their problem-solving ability in new or little-known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.

CB8 – Students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, while incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.

CB9 – Students should be able to communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that support them to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous manner.

CB10 – Students have the learning skills that will allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

CG1 – To issue and argumentatively claim the validity of philosophical judgments on theoretical or practical problems related to justice in the interactions of human beings with each other and with nature.

CG2 – Ability to analyze and recognize the underlying axiological and political foundations in disciplinary contexts other than the philosophical one.

CG3 – Assume and critically evaluate in their philosophical research the value of scientific knowledge and technological innovation as paths to social transformation.

CG4 – Determine the objectives, goals or priorities of the philosophical research work to be carried out, organizing the necessary deadlines and resources, as well as controlling the established processes.

CE1 – Be able to independently search for and manage specialized information on the topics and research trends in the areas of philosophical knowledge involved in the Master's degree

CE2 – Gain specialized and advanced knowledge of specific areas of contemporary philosophical research and human praxis, such as the mind, language, technology, science, society, culture, ethics, politics, the arts and aesthetics; as well as the historical, social and cultural context in which they develop.

CE3 – Prepare research papers in a personal and independent manner, using consistent arguments to justify their theses; as well as evaluate contemporary philosophical proposals, critically paying attention to their historical and theoretical assumptions.

CE4 – Ability to identify and define the topics and research trends in the philosophical areas of knowledge involved in the Master's degree.

CE5 – Apply acquired philosophical knowledge to critically analyze and evaluate some solutions to theoretical and/or practical problems inherent to today's complex and globalized societies.

CE6 – Design, develop and publicly defend a philosophical research paper

CE7 – Understand the importance of public R&D&I plans, of the social recognition of knowledge, as well as the impact indices of the media used to disseminate research, for the future development and financing (public and/or private) of the research career.
