Economía y (como) ficción en la Inglaterra del siglo XVI:
usura, depreciación, inflación y circulación del capital
Resumen
Este trabajo parte de las analogías/homologías entre el dominio de lo lingüístico y el de lo económico, considerados como ontológicamente muy similares: sistemas de representación simbólica que comparten mecanismos de producción y recuperación de significado. Estas similitudes comienzan a ser evidentes en el siglo XVI a partir de que los primeros tratadistas proto-económicos ingleses examinan conceptos tales como la usura y el préstamo con interés; el envilecimiento de la moneda y su depreciación; los procesos inflacionarios; y las distintas aproximaciones a la pertinencia de la circulación del capital o, por el contrario, su acumulación. Como se mostrará, estos fenómenos fueron estudiados por los primeros escritores económicos del 1500 inglés, a la vez que se pueden encontrar articulando propuestas literarias y estéticas de diversa índole, especialmente en el teatro y la poesía del periodo.
