Ifigenia en Áulide: una versión española y una griega en los albores del s. XVIII
Abstract
Through the dramatic adaptations of the classical myth of Iphigen made by José de Cañizares and Petro Katsaítis during the second decade of the 18th century, both inspired in the respective plays of European writers and not directly from Eurípides, we analyze the special features that appear in contrast to the original mythology together with the similarities and divergences that manifest the own dramas among themselves. The influence of literary models considered more prestigious and universals in this sort of literatures and societies that are so far, such as the Greek and the Spanish ones, help us to understand essentially the limits that the own national and artistic singularity impose to this assimilation.
