Coercive or liberating legislation for women: A Plutarch’s vision of Solon’s legislation
Abstract
In Plutarch’s view, Solon’s reforms include some interesting decrees in relation to women. Rather than restricting women’s activities the decrees seek to safeguard feminine honour.
