Ethic Use of Artificial Intelligence
Latente recognizes the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on academic research and scientific writing. To ensure integrity and transparency in research publication, the journal establishes the following guidelines on the use of AI by authors:
1. Transparency and Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in the research process, data analysis, writing, or editing of manuscripts. This information should be included in the methodology section or in the acknowledgments of the article.
2. Responsibility for Content
The final responsibility for the content rests with the authors. Papers generated entirely by AI without substantial human intervention will not be accepted. Authors must ensure the accuracy, originality, and validity of the information presented in their manuscripts.
3. Intellectual Property and Plagiarism
The use of AI to generate texts without critical review and significant editing by the authors is prohibited. Manuscripts will be subjected to plagiarism detection tools to ensure the originality of the content, as established in our Editorial Policy for Plagiarism Detection.
4. Use of AI in Data Analysis
If AI algorithms are used for data analysis, authors must provide a detailed description of the models employed, the parameters used, and the interpretation of the results. Open access to codes and datasets in public repositories is recommended whenever possible.
5. Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that the use of AI in their research respects ethical principles, including the protection of personal data and the absence of algorithmic biases that could affect the validity of the results.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the rejection of the manuscript in accordance with the journal's Editorial Policy for the Detection of Plagiarism. Authors may contact the Editorial Board board with any questions regarding the application of these guidelines.
