Competing Interests

Both the members of the Editorial Board of Latente and the reviewers shall refrain from evaluating manuscripts received in the event of conflicts of interest related to the author or the content of the works.

To ensure compliance, at the beginning of the blind peer review process applied by the journal, reviewers are asked to report any potential conflicts of interest, in which case they must expressly decline to accept the review assignment.

As indicated in the journal's Ethical Statement, reviewers will recuse themselves in the following cases:

  • When there is a direct personal relationship between an author and a reviewer.
  • When there is recent and significant professional collaboration between reviewers and authors.
  • When an editor or reviewer is a collaborator in the project being submitted.
  • When the editor or reviewer has a financial interest in a company with interests in the proposal.
  • When the editor or reviewer considers that they cannot be objective, either for personal reasons or due to other interests.

In addition, the Editorial Board will pay special attention to ensuring that no conflicts of interest arise during the various stages of evaluation.
