Intrasentential Phraseological Units in a Corpus of Legal Texts: The Schema [PREP. + SUST. + PREP.]
Abstract
In this paper I present an analysis of prepositional constructions corresponding to the schema [prep. + noun + prep.], which are used in a corpus of Hispanic legal texts to express a specific judicial action. In order to do so, first of all, all the combinations registered in the CRIMO corpus are extracted automatically. Then, they are grouped according to the meaning they refer to and, after a formal analysis following the cohesion tests established by Montoro del Arco (2006: 190-197), their status as intrasentential phraseological units with prepositional or adverbial function is validated. Finally, I compare from a qualitative perspective the similarities and differences among the variants within the same group, highlighting aspects related to their geographical distribution if they are relevant.
