Metadata Release Protocol
1. Purpose of the Protocol
The purpose of this protocol is to establish the terms and conditions under which the metadata associated with scientific articles published in this journal are ceded, in order to ensure their visibility, preservation, interoperability, and dissemination in scientific platforms and specialized repositories.
2. Definition of Metadata
For the purposes of this protocol, metadata refers to any structured information that describes, explains, locates, or facilitates the retrieval, use, or management of an informational resource, including but not limited to: title, authorship, institutional affiliation, abstract, keywords, bibliographic references, DOI, ORCID identifiers, publication date, document type, language, among others.
3. Ownership and Authorization
The journal retains ownership of the metadata generated during the editorial process. Authors, by accepting the publication of their works, expressly authorize the collection, processing, publication, and dissemination of such metadata on national and international indexing platforms and services, as well as in bibliographic catalogs, scientific databases, and digital preservation systems.
4. Standards and Formats
The journal is committed to structuring metadata in accordance with internationally recognized standards (e.g., Dublin Core, Crossref, OAI-PMH, MARC21), promoting its interoperability with other platforms. Persistent identifiers such as DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) will also be used when possible.
5. Recipients and Permitted Uses
Metadata may be ceded, without economic compensation, to:
- Institutional and thematic repositories.
- Indexing services and bibliographic databases.
- Scientific content aggregators.
- Academic search engines.
The cession of metadata does not authorize the reproduction of the full content of the article, which will be subject to the specific copyright license established by the journal.
6. Data Protection and Privacy
In the cession of metadata, current legislation on personal data protection will be respected. Only professional data necessary for the correct identification and attribution of authorship will be included.
7. Updates and Corrections
The journal is committed to keeping metadata updated and correcting any errors detected in them. Authors may request the correction of inaccurate metadata through the journal's contact channels.
