Plagiarism Detection

Clepsydra: International Journal of Gender Studies and Feminist Theory is a scientific journal that publishes original and unpublished research. In our commitment against plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and scientific fraud, we require those submitting article proposals to include, along with their contribution and affiliation details, a signed declaration of Clepsydra Journal's anti-plagiarism ethical commitment.

Upon receiving the article, our Editorial Team conducts a preliminary analysis using the Turnitin plagiarism detection software, provided by the Publications Service of the University of La Laguna, before subjecting it to blind peer review.

If any form of plagiarism is detected, its nature and scope are investigated to make a decision regarding the manuscript. In cases of severe plagiarism, such as copying long sections of text, the author will be directly informed of the article's rejection.

If the plagiarism detection report indicates the copying of some short phrases presenting extensive ideas as one's own, the author will be contacted to correct the document by including the appropriate citations. Once corrected, the article will be resubmitted for review, where the Editorial Team will verify the absence of plagiarism.

After passing this initial phase, the article will undergo blind peer review. The specialists reviewing the texts will report any plagiarism situations they detect in the articles assigned to them for review.

The Editorial Team reserves the right to withdraw any received, accepted, or already published work in case plagiarism, falsification, or duplicated publication is confirmed, as well as other cases of scientific fraud previously listed. We also encourage the publication of corrections or retractions in case of detected errors.
