In the field of mental health, affective disorders (ADs) account for approximately 60 percent of cases treated by psychologists and psychiatrists. It is estimated that one-third of these do not respond to currently available treatments, and a high number of those who do respond do so only partially, with frequent relapses that significantly diminish their quality of life. In this regard, the WHO has indicated that ADs will soon become the leading cause of disability in modern societies, a situation that has prompted health agencies in different countries to increase their efforts to promote the development of more effective intervention and prevention protocols. The NAPC Expert brings together specialists from different academic and clinical fields with the aim of offering theoretical and practical training in these new intervention protocols, as well as in the theoretical aspects that underpin them.
