Grades 25-26 > Estela Gallego

Estela Gallego

Estela's life has been tied to a ball since she was practically a baby. She put on her first goalkeeper gloves at just three years old, and almost two decades later, soccer is her greatest inspiration, her daily motivation, her way of life.

She chose the University of La Laguna to study and pursue a degree in Spanish, a place that has allowed her to grow academically while also combining her passion for sports.

Not giving up as a way of life

It's been just over a year since Estela joined one of the island's best teams, Club Deportivo Tenerife. Her signing, almost a surprise, came at a time of doubt for her, when she considered abandoning the path she had embarked on a long time ago, due to the poor results of the team she was playing for that season.

True to his values of hard work and sacrifice, he received the news that he would be able to represent Tenerife and jumped at the chance. No one told him it would be easy to get to this point, but through hard work, he's achieving goals that once seemed almost impossible.

Study for a better future

Just like sports, studying requires perseverance and dedication. Estela, who is in her second year at the University of La Laguna, knows this well. From the start, she was clear that only by properly organizing her time would she be able to complete her studies while simultaneously training, competing, and traveling to other parts of the archipelago to play matches.

Estela, through effort and perseverance, makes it seem easy to achieve any challenge a person sets before them.
