Margarita Jambrina Enríquez is a geologist and got his European PhD in Geology from the University of Salamanca in 2015, and more recently a PhD in Territory and Society from the University of La Laguna (2024).
His specialized training began in the Stable Isotopes Laboratory of the University of Salamanca, and became rich in prestigious centers such as the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology of the CSIC, he Organic Surface Geochemistry Lab (University of Potsdam, Germany) and the Antonio González Bio-Organic Institute of the University of La Laguna. Currently, it is Professor in the Department of Petrology and Geochemistry at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands.
His research career has been recognized with the extraordinary undergraduate and doctoral awards, as well as by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology, and includes competitive contracts and stays (national and international).
His main specialty is Isotopic Geochemistry and Biogeochemistry of Quaternary Deposits, a field in which she has been recognized as Established Researcher (R3 Certificate, 2023), leading Competitive research projects and agreements with public administrationsHis research focuses on the Long-term environmental change, paleoclimate reconstructions in areas sensitive to global change, and the study of past human-climate interactionsTo achieve this, use a study approach Multi-indicator that combines sedimentology, elemental and isotopic geochemistry, and the analysis of lipid biomarkers in both natural and anthropogenic sedimentary recordsIn the context of the Canary Islands it promotes Key projects using geochemical indicators to reconstruct climatic and environmental changes from island sedimentary records.
He teaches at the Degree in Environmental Sciences and Degree in Biology and it has been Director and researcher of Educational Innovation and Transfer ProjectsHis teaching and research experience is transferred to the students of TFG, TFM, Doctoral Theses and postdoctoral researchers. Participate in activities of Scientific dissemination of research with presentations at national and international conferences and publications, as well as in events aimed at the general public.
