50 years of the Spanish transition to democracy
In 2025 they are fulfilled fifty years since the death of Francisco Franco. Starting with this anniversary, the Vice-Rector's Office for Culture and University Outreach has organized a series of activities designed to illustrate how the transition from dictatorship to democracy impacted multiple areas of life, from the restoration of rights to the explosion of new forms of creativity in different disciplines.
With the presence of prominent figures of the Transition such as Manuela Carmena, Iñaki Gabilondo and Carla Antonelli, Among other things, the aim is to reflect on this important period and establish connections with the present. The activities are aimed at the academic community, especially students, and society in general, with the aim of reminding everyone of the true meaning of the word freedom and the cost of its achievement.
