Exhibition: From the Big Bang to Tinguatón, Lanzarote's last volcano

April 15 - 5:00 pm - May 15 - 8:00 pm

The Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension has organized the exhibition 'From the Big Bang to Tinguatón, Lanzarote's Last Volcano'. Visitors can explore the historic eruption of the Tinguatón volcano, located within the Los Volcanes Natural Park, which, along with the Tao and Nuevo Fuego volcanoes, constitutes Lanzarote's most recent eruption. Tinguatón represents the third and final phase of the volcanic complex that began its activity on July 31, 1824, with a powerful earthquake felt in several nearby towns. This eruption, followed by 88 years of dormancy, gave rise to the Tao volcano. Tinguatón ceased its activity on October 24 of that same year. We have designed a highly educational exhibition that will help us explain the historical and scientific significance of our volcanic origins.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
