Los Realejos hosts the course «"Public speaking, argumentation and debate"», jointly organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension and the City Council of Los Realejos, within the program of University Extension Courses in the municipal area “City Councils 2026”, which will be held on November 24, 25 and 26, 2026.

Goals:

– To equip students with public communication skills.
– To introduce students to the arts of public speaking, argumentation, and debate.
– To help students overcome stage fright and combat the stress of public speaking.

This course is aimed at anyone interested in learning how to speak in public, overcome stage fright, and practice the arts of oratory, argumentation, and debate in personal and professional contexts.

Academic Director: Luis Javier Capote Pérez. Contracted Professor with a PhD, Department of Basic Legal Disciplines at the University of La Laguna.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE, COMPETENCE AND RECOGNITION BY ECTS CREDIT

The University of La Laguna, through the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension, will issue a certificate of attendance to all those who attend a minimum of 80% of the scheduled in-person class hours. Likewise, those who successfully complete the independent student work will receive a certificate of attendance and achievement, which is also recognized as an ECTS credit.
