World Philosophy Day 2026 "The Frontiers of the Human"«

November 19 - 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

As every year, the Philosophy Section of the University of La Laguna will celebrate World Philosophy Day on the third Thursday of November, which will take place on November 19th in the Departmental Building of the Philosophy Section.

The theme chosen for this course is "The Boundaries of the Human," an invitation to ask ourselves what characteristics we consider uniquely human and where we draw the line. This question opens up multiple avenues of reflection, from our relationship with animals or artificial intelligence to disability, consciousness, personal identity, and the technological transformations of human life, among others. These issues can be approached from different philosophical currents and traditions and from fields as diverse as ethics, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of science, political philosophy, and aesthetics.

We invite students of the Philosophy Degree to participate in the day by presenting a communication, tutored by a professor, related to the proposed topic.

Students interested in participating should submit their proposal through the following form before October 31.
