Human rights training is fundamental to the DNA of Social Work, although in Europe, and particularly in Spain, this content has been diluted as these rights are considered already won. In the current context, marked by the global threat to fundamental rights and the weakening of democracy, it is essential to restore its centrality in university education. Latin America, especially countries like Argentina, Chile, and Mexico, has a strong tradition in the teaching and active defense of human rights in Social Work, offering a unique opportunity for learning and mutual collaboration. This seminar aims to present the results of comparative research on human rights training in Social Work in Spain and Latin America, as well as to foster a space for reflection and cooperation among faculty from universities on both continents. This exchange will highlight best practices in training and strengthen international academic networks. It is hoped that this dialogue will contribute to enriching Spanish curricula, promoting greater knowledge and ethical commitment among students in Spain, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico to the defense of human rights as the foundation of democracy and professional practice.
