The Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication and the Faculty of Law of the University of La Laguna will host the 6th edition of the International Congress of Research and Transfer in Communication, INTRACOM-2026, on December 3 and 4, 2026. This event will bring together more than one hundred experts from Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American universities, and the entire community of the University of La Laguna is invited to participate with their work.

In this edition, we propose as our central theme the debate "Democracy versus algorithm. Induced freedom or exercised freedom?" We will analyze the challenges posed by the regulation of artificial intelligence in the field of fundamental freedoms, with special attention to the right of citizens to receive quality information: a structural right for democratic functioning that cannot be compromised by market dynamics or by the algorithmic processes of the current digital ecosystem.
