The Chair of Life Cycles and Older Adults at the University of La Laguna, in collaboration with the Tenerife Island Council, will hold a conference on October 14th in the Rectors' Hall of the University of La Laguna's Main Building. The conference will focus on sharing experiences, projects, and reflections on active aging, diversity, inclusion, and the participation of older adults. The event will showcase various initiatives developed within the framework of the Chair, addressing issues such as: dignified and inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ older adults; participation in cooperative activities that foster social cohesion; intergenerational relationships in the context of unwanted loneliness; artistic mediation for sharing life stories; and digital inclusion that promotes active and independent aging. All these actions are united by the goal of contributing to a more inclusive society committed to the well-being of older adults.

The event, which will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, will include presentations of projects, creations, and experiences; an open dialogue for exchanging knowledge and proposals; and an exhibition of works from the "Artistic Mediation" project at the La Capilla Cultural Space. The program will conclude with a social gathering for attendees and a performance by the Camerata Lacunensis of the University of La Laguna. This initiative provides an opportunity to connect professionals, the university community, collaborating organizations, and members of various groups who work with and support older adults, fostering the exchange of knowledge and the collective development of new forms of participation, care, inclusion, and social cohesion throughout life.
