The Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Education at the University of La Laguna will host the exhibition 'Images – Words' from October 13th to 30th. This project by Tenerife-born architect and photographer Carlos A. Schwartz is organized in collaboration with the CajaCanarias Foundation. The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1942, Carlos A. Schwartz has a long and distinguished career in architecture and photography. His architectural works include the renovation of the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium and his participation in organizing the 1st International Exhibition of Sculptures in the Street, held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1973.

The exhibition brings together a selection of black and white photographs taken over several years, focusing on the world of books, their spaces, and the people connected to them. Through his images, Schwartz offers a personal perspective on the places and people that bring the literary universe to life. The exhibition also includes texts and testimonials from the people portrayed, establishing a dialogue between photography and the written word. Architecture is also present in the exhibition. Schwartz's perspective, shaped by his background as an architect, pays particular attention to the spaces surrounding books and the relationship between people and the places where literary activity unfolds.

With 'Images Words', the author brings together photography, architecture and literature in an exhibition that invites us to reflect on the value of books, the spaces that house them and those who make it possible for the written word to continue to be part of everyday life.
