Imperfect Impossible. Contemporary Dance

October 22 - 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Two bodies relate to each other with a mixture of admiration and dependence, attempting to impose an idea of eternity upon their inevitably finite, organic materiality. How can they stand firm? How can they love when the outside world imposes itself as noise, incoherence, threat? Sometimes the other is a support; sometimes, an opening emptiness.
This piece is perceived through the skin, in a dimension that eschews the rational and addresses what is felt before it can be named. In Richard Mascherin's work, the fall permeates the body as a physical, emotional, and spiritual experience, ceasing to be understood as a mere accident and becoming a form of relating to the world.

The intensity of Imperfect Impossible pushes us to metabolize pleasure and desire, it invites us to abandon ourselves to feel and to assume the difficulty of synchronizing an ending, understanding in the departure not only a loss, but also a possible way of loving.
