The seminar aims to discuss and reflect, from both continents, on the importance of education for democratic coexistence within the framework of the technical and instrumental curricular policies currently observed at different educational levels (primary, secondary, technical, and university). Theorizing about education for democracy and the confusion surrounding it as the ideologization of teacher power become urgent topics for discussion in relation to the meanings of "the political" and "politics," based on the concept of radical democracy coined by Chantalle Mouffe. Latin America, plagued by profound inequalities, and Europe, facing the genocide in Gaza, demand that we rethink education from a perspective of meaning that fosters a good life for all.
