[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Llega la V edición de Campus América, del 19 al 30 de octubre, un espacio de valoración e impulso de las acciones de internacionalización de la Universidad de La Laguna con el continente americano, este año con Chile como país invitado.

This seminar addresses the interrelationship between social challenges, extreme natural events, and the role of democracy, a central theme in understanding contemporary development in Chile and other developing economies. In contexts marked by persistent inequalities, risk management in the face of earthquakes, droughts, or floods involves not only technical responses but also institutional mechanisms that strengthen citizen trust and democratic participation. The Chilean experience demonstrates how the capacity of the political system to respond transparently, equitably, and effectively to natural crises can become a decisive factor for social cohesion and economic stability. Similarly, in other emerging economies, democracy faces the challenge of consolidating itself as a guarantor of resilience and inclusion in decision-making, promoting fairer and more sustainable development. This seminar seeks to reflect on these relationships and improve our understanding of the links between inequality, climate events, and democracy.
