Bernardo García Morales's pictorial work explores the intrinsic beauty of natural matter and its ability to become landscape.

Close to informalism and linked to the modern tradition of Canarian art, its practice is based on a process that is both rational and intuitive, in which each material conditions the final form of the work.

Branches, bark, leaves, stones, shells, sand and earth, collected in different places in the Canary Islands, are transferred to the canvas preserving the traces of their origin and their transformation over time.

Painting does not hide nature, but rather unifies and reveals it: beneath pictorial surfaces and elements, irregularities, reliefs and recesses acquire a new visual and tactile intensity.

While some pieces remain almost like tree, bark or territory; others evoke unexpected landscapes, arising from the juxtaposition of found elements.

The exhibition thus proposes a careful look at what usually goes unnoticed: the capacity of the humblest matter to contain memory, beauty and mystery.
