Skeptics in the Pub in Tenerife No. 125 (16.6): "Fifteen years of Skeptics in the Pub in Tenerife"«

February 11 - 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Cultural Classroom for Scientific Dissemination organizes this seminar which will be held online on February 11, 2026 from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The conference will commemorate fifteen years of Skeptics in the Pub in Tenerife.

Skeptics in the Pub is a series of informal public lectures that aims to revive the old practice of disseminating scientific research in bars. It is an activity carried out worldwide by public and private institutions.

The series arrived in Tenerife in February 2011 thanks to the initiative of Beatriz Villa Benito, who was studying medicine at the University of La Laguna at the time. After its first three editions, the series came under the management of the Aula Cultural de Divulgación Científica (Cultural Center for Scientific Dissemination), through one of its members, Luis Javier Capote Pérez.

Over these fifteen years, one hundred and twenty-five editions have taken place, structured in seasons organized according to the academic year. The sixteenth season is currently underway.
