A new edition of the event will be held on Wednesday, February 11. “We Do Science” to commemorate the “International Day of Women and Girls in Science.» This day aims to highlight the importance of women in science, innovation, and technology, as well as to encourage young women in the Canary Islands to pursue scientific and technological careers, through three informative talks given by leading researchers at our University or national research centers.

This activity is being carried out in a virtual format and will be attended by more than 3000 secondary, high school and vocational training students from different centers throughout the Canary Islands. 

The program for the day is listed below:

• 10:30 a.m. Opening
• 10:40 a.m. Talk with María del Mar Pino Yanes. Full Professor in the Genetics Area (Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology and Genetics – ULL)
• 11:10 a.m. Talk with Ana María Estévez Braun. Professor of Organic Chemistry (Department of Organic Chemistry - ULL)
• 11:40 a.m. Talk with Vicky Palma. Head of the Risk Analysis and Operational Planning Unit of CECOES-112, Bachelor of Science in Physics, ULL
• 12:10 pm Farewell
