The project Canarias Sinfónica, Together with the Tenerife Philharmonic Orchestra, they will give a concert in the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna on October 9 at 8:30 p.m. to benefit the Batwa Association.

Canarias Sinfónica is the culmination of over 25 years of study and creation of Canarian folk music, adapted to a symphonic style with a language that primarily integrates jazz, folk, and nueva canción. This concert will feature the Tenerife Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as renowned singers and musicians.

The proceeds from this concert will go to the NGO Batwa Association, specifically for the construction and launch of the Batwa Medical Centre.

The Batwa of Uganda, once a proud people who inhabited the forest, were driven from their ancestral lands. Today, vulnerable, silenced, and endangered, they face poverty, discrimination, and the erasure of their cultural identity.

One of the Association's most important projects is completing this medical center, which will serve both the Batwa community and other families in the area. The building exists and construction is well underway, but it still needs to be finished, equipped, and put into operation.
