The CLARIAH-IATEXT node of the Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications of the ULPGC

May 8-11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The activity consists of the presentation of the Canary Islands node of CLARIAH-ES, integrated into the European CLARIAH network, and affiliated with the Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications (IATEXT) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). CLARIAH-ES is the Spanish digital research infrastructure in Digital Humanities and Social Sciences, created to integrate Spain into the European consortia CLARIN (linguistic resources) and DARIAH (arts and humanities). It functions as a distributed network of nodes (currently more than 10) that offers tools, data, and services to researchers.

Gregorio Rodríguez, Francisco J. Carreras, and Mar Hernández (ULPGC) will speak, presenting the main digital resources, tools, and services that this infrastructure makes available to the research community. These services include text corpora, linguistic analysis tools, platforms for managing and using humanities data, and various solutions geared toward research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The goal of this initiative is to facilitate open access to leading digital infrastructures and promote inter-university collaboration.

The activity is organized by the Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies (IEMYR) of the University of La Laguna, through its Digital Humanities laboratory (IEMYR-Lab) and the professors Dulce M.ª González Doreste, Roberto J. González Zalacaín, Cristian G. Díaz Rodríguez and Raúl Villagrasa-Elías.
