First NEXUS Conference: NEAE Education

October 1

The first NEXUS Conference: Special Educational Needs in Education aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences geared towards improving the educational response for students with special educational needs in the Canary Islands. This conference arose from the demand of teachers, both those in training at the University of La Laguna and those already working in the field, for more training and information regarding the needs of students with special educational needs.

The sessions will cover the design of accessible teaching proposals, computational thinking, sensory integration, and collaboration with families. Meanwhile, the ideas lab will offer a space to experiment and reflect together on the use of games, materials, and technologies in inclusive educational contexts.

The meeting seeks to connect mutual knowledge between teachers and professionals from different fields with the aim of sharing resources, resolving doubts and jointly seeking solutions to the difficulties that arise in daily teaching practice, thus contributing to improving the educational response and promoting the autonomy and participation of all students.

On the other hand, the aim is to promote the creation of a network of contacts that facilitates collaboration beyond the conference sessions, seeking to create a more cohesive teaching environment on a daily basis.

The sessions are aimed at anyone related to the field of education, particularly active teachers.

Academic Direction: Pearl Michel, Assistant Professor, Department of Classical, French, Arabic and Romance Philology of the University of La Laguna.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE AND COMPETENCE: The University of La Laguna, through the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension, will issue a certificate of attendance to all participants who register for the activity.
