On October 2nd, the III Research Seminar in honor of Professor José Luis Sánchez-Parodi Pascua will take place. This meeting will be held in the Tomás y Valiente room of the Faculty of Law at this University and continues an initiative launched by the Commercial Law area with the aim of discussing legal issues of interest and current relevance to this sector of the legal system.

Professor Sánchez-Parodi dedicated his research to almost every field within commercial law, from his doctoral thesis on financial leasing of movable assets, the study of classic exchange institutions, and aspects of corporate law related to the liquidation of capital companies, to insolvency law. However, he always showed a particular interest in corporate law, which he also addressed in his professional practice as one of the most prestigious lawyers specializing in commercial matters on our island. On this occasion, to continue this initiative, we are pleased to have Professor Cándido Paz-Ares, Professor of Commercial Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid, a specialist in corporate law, who will speak on the topic of “Purpose of the company and causa societatis”.

The seminar has been organized by the Commercial Law department of the University of La Laguna, with the aim of continuing the legal debate on these topics that interested Professor Sánchez-Parodi and that have left a mark on the rest of the colleagues who make up the area of knowledge.

The event is aimed at university professors, researchers, students, professionals and all those who have an interest in the topic under discussion.
