The areas of Didactics of Body Expression and Physical Education and Sports, both belonging to the Department of Specific Didactics of the Faculty of Education at the University of La Laguna, are organizing a conference on Wednesday, October 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Education. This conference is aimed at students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Primary Education students specializing in Physical Education, non-university Physical Education teachers, and the general public.

The lecture, entitled "Self-Construction of Materials: An Innovative Pedagogical Model in Physical Education and Schools," will be given by Professor Antonio Méndez Giménez. The speaker will present the benefits and potential of this pedagogical model, applicable to all educational levels and all areas, subjects, and disciplines, although he will focus on his experience in the field of Physical Education.

Professor Antonio Méndez Giménez, PhD in Physical Education and Sports Science, holds the position of Full Professor at the University of Oviedo. His prolific academic career is reflected in the publication of over 250 articles in specialized journals, more than 100 of which have been indexed in the ISI Web of Knowledge/WOS (JCR). He has also authored or co-authored more than 20 books and book chapters published by national and international publishers, and has coordinated three edited volumes, in addition to writing the forewords for four books. Professor Méndez Giménez has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences. He is a member of the EDAFIDES Research Group at the University of Oviedo, which was awarded the COLEF Asturias Prize (11th edition, 2021) for its significant contribution to research, the quality of its members, and the efficient use of its resources. He is also the creator of the successful YouTube channel "Physical Education with Homemade Equipment.".
