The MAPFRE Canarias Foundation Chair of Technology and Education (TECNOEDU) at the University of La Laguna is organizing a face-to-face seminar on October 8th and 9th From conversational AI to AI that works with you. Agentic Artificial Intelligence for scientific research and university teaching, aimed especially at university faculty, research staff and doctoral students.

The training will be led by Antonio Julio López Galisteo, a tenured professor at Rey Juan Carlos University. Over two practical sessions, participants will learn about different applications of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini Notebook in tasks related to both research and university teaching.

The first session, to be held on Thursday, October 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will be dedicated to agentic artificial intelligence for scientific research. The planned topics include the use of AI for research in scientific literature, the use of specialized connectors, the development of skills for expert review of scientific articles, the creation of personal research environments, and the creation of artificial intelligence agents applied to research work.

The second session will take place on Friday, October 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will focus on the applications of agentic artificial intelligence for university teaching. It will cover the creation of educational materials within a pedagogical framework, the improvement of teaching resources through projects using AI tools, the implementation of the Socratic method with artificial intelligence, and different strategies to promote the appropriate use of these technologies to support student study and learning.
