Granadilla de Abona hosts the course «"Practical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence"», jointly organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension and the Illustrious City Council of Granadilla de Abona, within the program of University Extension Courses in the municipal sphere “City Councils 2026”, which will be held on October 20, 21 and 22, 2026.

Goals:

• Learn the fundamentals of artificial intelligence.
• Understanding the main models of Artificial Intelligence.
• Understanding the principles and potential of agentic AI.
• Learn to use chat-based generative intelligence tools: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, …
• Present Artificial Intelligence applications in different areas: text analysis, image generation, classification problems, audio generation, automation, etc.
• Reflect on the ethical implications associated with the development of artificial intelligence.

This course is aimed at anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and exploring useful tools in different fields. No prior knowledge of the subject is required.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE, COMPETENCE AND RECOGNITION BY ECTS CREDIT

The University of La Laguna, through the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension, will issue a certificate of attendance to all those who attend a minimum of 80% of the scheduled in-person class hours. Likewise, those who successfully complete the independent student work will receive a certificate of attendance and achievement, which is also recognized as an ECTS credit.
