II International Congress “Law, Justice and Economic Sustainability”

May 7 - May 8

The Faculty of Law at the University of La Laguna will host the 2nd International Congress “Law, Justice and Economic Sustainability” on May 7th and 8th, 2026, as part of the 9th Conference on “Business and Law”. This event is the third edition of scientific congresses held within the framework of the research project “Environmental, Social and Economic Sustainability of Justice. Challenges of the 2030 Agenda” (PID2021-126145OB-I00), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The congress is establishing itself as a leading forum for the interdisciplinary analysis of current challenges facing the justice system from a sustainability perspective, addressing key issues such as litigation, judicial efficiency, restorative justice, insolvency, and due diligence. The program will feature presentations and panel discussions by prominent national and international experts, focusing on topics including excessive litigation and its corrective mechanisms, the efficiency and economic sustainability of the justice system, alternative and consensual dispute resolution mechanisms, sustainability in criminal proceedings, and due diligence as a driver of legal change.

The congress also includes a dedicated space for the presentation of papers, fostering the exchange of ideas and the participation of both emerging and established researchers. The call for papers will be open until April 24, 2026.
