II Seminario sobre propiedad intelectual comparada «IP rights and videogames»

Actividad de Extensión Universitaria organizada a través de las Cátedra Cultural «Francisco Tomás y Valiente» con la colaboración del Aula Cultural «Radio Campus», el Programa Erasmus y Docencia en Derecho Civil, que se celebrará en la Facultad de Bellas el día 14 de octubre de 2021, en horario de 11:00 – 13:00 horas.

Objetivos: «The video game industry is one of the most important segments of the entertainment industry. It includes audiovisual creations that provide an interactive virtual world to the players. After a short introduction, the lecture will cover the protection of software and, graphical user interfaces, and other protected elements incorporated into the video games, such as graphics, music. After that, the economic rights and business models of video game distribution will be discussed. Video game developers usually rely on other creative creations, such as novels or films, but vice versa, it is also common that games are subject to film adaptations. Therefore, the right of adaptation will also be covered. Finally, a brief introduction will be given on the right of publicity questions related to video games.»

El seminario será una exposición teórico-práctica, con participación activa del alumnado.

Imparte: István Harkai. Profesor Adjunto de Derecho de la Universidad de Szeged, Hungría.

Dirige: Luis Javier Capote Pérez. Profesor de Derecho Civil, Departamento de Disciplinas Jurídicas Básicas de la ULL. Miembro de la Cátedra UNESCO «Cultural Property Law» (Universidad de Opole). Miembro del consejo de redacción de la revista «Santander Art & Culture Law Review».
