Fifth Conference on Agricultural Associations: "Female Leadership and Generational Change in the Canary Islands' Countryside"«

April 24 - 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

The 5th Conference on Agricultural Associations is organized by the Cajasiete Chair of Social Economy and Cooperativism (CESCO) and the SatFast Cooperative. It focuses on analyzing female leadership and generational renewal in the Canary Islands' agricultural sector, two key elements for ensuring the economic, social, and territorial sustainability of the primary sector in the Canary Islands.

In a context marked by demographic challenges, the transformation of the rural environment and the need for modernization of the agricultural sector, these conferences aim to generate a space for reflection and dialogue between institutional leaders, agricultural entities, cooperatives, professionals in the sector and the university community.

The meeting will combine an institutional presentation on future strategies for the sector, an intervention focused on the visibility and training of women in rural areas, and a round table with real experiences of leadership and management in agricultural organizations, addressing issues such as innovation, productive sustainability, training and the continuity of farms.

Through these complementary perspectives, the conference seeks to highlight the role of women and new generations as key agents for the development of the Canary Islands' rural environment, as well as to emphasize the importance of association and cooperation as tools to face the challenges of the sector.

The overall objective of these conferences is to analyze the role of female leadership and generational change in the agricultural sector of the Canary Islands, highlighting its importance for sustainability, innovation and the strengthening of the rural fabric.
