ZONE 1. TABAIBAL CARDONAL

This plot aims to recreate the cardonal-tabaibal scrubland of both the south and north of the island of Tenerife. Furthermore, the floristic diversity observed in this plot is extensive, as it also incorporates plants typical of coastal plant communities, with which the cardonal-tabaibal scrubland meets at its lower distribution limit, and plants with which this coastal scrubland meets at its upper limit, on both the northern and southern slopes.
We must remember that these plots are not exact recreations, faithful to the forms of the vegetation floor in its natural state, but we have tried to introduce, in a small space, as many of the possible species that can be seen in this environment.

The cardonal tabaibal is characterized by its ability to withstand high temperatures, high sunlight, water scarcity, and the influence of the sea breeze… and this means that some of the species seen here are adapted in one way or another to these climatic and edaphic conditions (soil conditions).

The planting work on this plot began in 2014, as shown in the first photograph on your right, and work is still being carried out on it, as shown in the second photograph.
