ITB Seminar: «The presynaptic dimension of brain pathologies: Munc13-1 and Complexin and their control over synaptic (dys)function».

May 12-1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The ITB 2026 Research Seminars program continues on Tuesday, May 12th at 13:00 with a seminar by Dr. Francisco José López Murcia, who will give a talk «The presynaptic dimension of brain pathologies: Munc13-1 and Complexin and their control over synaptic (dys)function».
Francisco José López Murcia is a principal investigator at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and a member of the Institute of Neurosciences at the University of Barcelona. His scientific activity focuses on the study of the molecular mechanisms that govern neurotransmission, specifically the role of proteins such as Munc13-1 and complexins in the regulation of synaptic exocytosis and their impact on brain pathologies. He has carried out his research at internationally renowned centers, notably at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (Germany), and is the author of significant scientific contributions in the fields of molecular neurobiology and presynaptic physiology.
Like all the seminars that will be held throughout this year, in addition to being held in person at the ITB Seminar Room, they can be followed through the following link from Google Meet.
